Dr Adrian Watts

SPECIALIST IN RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY, IMPLANT SURGEON AND PARTNER

BDS(London), MRD RCS(Eng), FDS RCS(Eng), FDS (Rest.Dent) RCS(Eng), FFD RCS(Irel). GDC No. 63380

Adrian has worked in referral practice in Bristol since 1996, having graduated from Guy's Hospital, University of London in 1988. He commenced Consultant/Specialist training in Bristol Dental Hospital in 1995 and, in 2001, was awarded an International Team for Implantology Scholarship to spend a year studying and teaching implant dentistry at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Adrian’s broad experience and training enables him to quickly analyse a dental condition and provide complete clarity to patients when explaining their diagnosis.

Adrian returned from his scholarship year in 2003, to became principal in his own Clifton-based, Specialist referral practice in 2007. This business was sold in 2014, when Adrian began a collaboration with two other founding partners and, in so doing, planted the seed for Bristol Dental Specialists. Alongside Specialist referral practice, Adrian has been a part-time NHS Consultant at Cardiff Dental Hospital for 10 years, where he led the implant dentistry module on a Specialist training programme. From September 2019, he will work as a part-time NHS Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton and at Bristol Dental Specialists. Adrian will continue to teach and mentor dentists through the educational arm of Bristol Dental Specialists, Bristol Dental Academy, which will offer a Specialist lecture programme.

Adrian is a registered specialist with the General Dental Council for Restorative Dentistry, Periodontics, Endodontics and Prosthodontics – a claim which can be made by very few dental surgeons in the country. This is most reassuring for referring dentists and their patients.
